Obituary of Donald Robert Beissel

Edmonton Eskimo fan Donald Robert Beissel, late of Regina, SK, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 1, 2017 surrounded by Rider Fans. It is still a mystery to us how he survived in Riderville, his Eskimo compatriots, sons and wives Sean Beissel and Heidi Obermeier, Matt and Dilala Beissel, and daughter Cathie Beissel insist that as the biggest fan he was the gold that shone in the sea of green. Don’s love of baseball, the Blue Jays, and his wicked first base skills had him develop the dream team roster made up of his grandchildren, pitcher Cruz Anderson, back catcher Keilyn Beissel, first base Hanna Paquette, second base Rhys Norman, third base Michael Beissel, short stop Riel Gauthier, right field Connor Norman, center field Ethan Beissel, left field Josie Beissel, and bat girl and boy Emma and Connor Beissel. He was embraced by his wife and coach Eileen Anderson, step-daughters, Jenny Anderson and Judy Anderson, sisters Daryl Beissel and Denise Beissel, and nephew Ryan Beissel for bleeding black for his favorite hockey team the Edmonton Oilers. Don will be remembered and missed by all for his unwavering love, support, and devotion to his entire family and we let go lovingly as he returns home to the golf course in the sky where his parents Arnold and Agnes Beissel and his brother Dave Beissel wait patiently for him.Visitation will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK on Thursday, October 5, 2017 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. with a small program beginning at 7:00 p.m.

Special Thanks to the staff at Regina Wascana Grace Hospice, who helped him pass with kindness and dignity. Finally, Chaplin Major Sharon McDonough’s support helped make his last minutes peaceful.
