Obituary of Thomas Blake Ryerson

THOMAS “BLAKE” RYERSON

Blake passed away peacefully with his loving wife Michelle and daughters, Jennifer and Sarah by his bedside, after battling stomach cancer for the past 4.5 years on Saturday, November 4, 2017 in the Pasqua Hospital, Palliative Care Unit. He was predeceased by his father, Ron Ryerson; uncle George Pfeifer; niece Jade LaPlante; and brother-in-law Blaine Katz. Blake is survived by spouse Michelle Ryerson; daughters, Sarah Ryerson and Jennifer (Andrew Lamb) Ryerson; grandchildren, Haley and Ty Ryerson (Lamb); mother Jo Ryerson; sisters, Ronda Ryerson and Diana (Charlie) LaPlante; mother-in-law Evelyn Katz; sisters-in-law, Wendy Whitebear and Deb Ireland; brother-in-law Michael Ireland; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunt, uncles, cousins, and godchildren. Blake was employed at Ackland's Grainger for over 15 years and a member with the Sask. Ford Mercury Club. A special thank you and recognition to the supportive healthcare team, Dr. S. Khaladkar, First Response Team (EMT), Allan Blair Cancer Clinic (Dr. M. Iqbal and Corrie), Dr. L. Mack (Calgary), Palliative Care Home Team, and the staff of ICU at the Regina General Hospital. Memorial Service in honour of Blake will be held at St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3510 Queen Street, Regina, SK on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers and cards, donations in memory of Blake may be made to the Pasqua Palliative Care Unit, 4101 Dewdney Avenue, Regina, SK S4T 1A5 or to Gastric Cancer Foundation c/o The V Foundation for Cancer Research, 14600 Weston Parkway, Cary, NC 27513. There will be a donation basket available at Blake's memorial service.
