EMMA GAWTHROP

(née RADFELDER)

MAY 18, 1928 – February 12, 2018

 

Emma passed away peacefully with family by her side, at the age of 89 years. She was predeceased by her husband Arnold (Gus) Gawthrop (1988); her two brothers, Herman Radfelder (2001) and Adolph Radfelder (2004); and her sister Mary Radfelder Smith (1955).  Emma is survived by her children, David (Ginny) Gawthrop, Kevin Gawthrop, and Colleen (Darryl) Smith; grandchildren, Ryan Gawthrop, Tori Gawthrop, Alannah Loney, (Patrick), and Dustin Smith; as well as her sisters, Ida Mclean and Olga Canevaro. Emma was born on May 18, 1928 at Vantage, Saskatchewan, and lived a good life on the farm in her early years. She attended High School in Mossbank, Saskatchewan, and went to Moose Jaw upon graduation, to accept a position as a telephone operator with SaskTel.  Moose Jaw is where Emma met her husband, Arnold (Gus) Gawthrop, an RCMP officer. They were married in St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Mossbank Saskatchewan, on April 27, 1957. Emma always put her family first. She was dedicated to her family and was a stay-at-home mom, taking care of her family her treasured occupation.  Emma will be fondly remembered and with much love, by all who remain, and who will carry on with memories of all the beauty and caring that she brought to our lives. Funeral Mass will be held at the RCMP Chapel, RCMP Academy, 11th Avenue, Regina, SK on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with reception to follow in the Officer’s Mess. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Regina Wascana Grace Hospice, 50 Angus Road, Regina, SK S4R 8P6.
