Obituary of Betty Jane Weisshaar

BETTY JANE WEISSHAAR

WEISSHAAR, Betty Jane (nee Murray) was born in Lone Rock, Iowa on June 5, 1922 and passed away in Regina, Saskatchewan on March 10, 2018.   Betty was predeceased by her husband, Paul, sons, Stephen and Gregory, parents, Robert and Gladys, sister, Lorraine, sister, Dottie (Carl), brother, Bud (Anne), and niece, Joanne.  Betty met her one love, Paul, in Iowa when both were teenagers, and married there in 1942, relocating to California after Paul enlisted in the United States Marine Corps.  Paul and Betty’s first sons, Steve and Greg were born in Los Angeles, California, later followed by Michael, Chris, Lorraine and Lisa all born in Regina, Saskatchewan.  Betty worked as a bookkeeper/tax preparer in the early and latter periods of her life, while most of her life was dedicated to the farm and family alongside Paul.  Betty will be greatly missed by her children, Michael (Glenys), Chris (Penny), Lorraine Mickler, and Lisa Conner (Cory); her grandchildren, Burke Weisshaar (Shirley), Jill Draper (Marc), Andrea Potter (Chad), Lee (Alison), Curtis (Amy), Natasha and Dana Weisshaar, Anna Woods (Lance), Lisa Mickler (Dallas), and Morgan Conner; as well as 5 great grandchildren, Jacob, Zachary, Olivia, Gracie, and Charlotte.  Betty will be particularly missed by her nephews, Murray (Jane), Kevin (Lesley), and Terry (Donna) Weisshaar, all of whom were very close to Betty and Paul throughout their lifetime.  Family was of utmost importance to Betty, and a special acknowledgement is made to her other nephews (the Murrays), as well as many other extended family members throughout the United States and Canada.  Should you choose, donations may be made to the Schizophrenia Society of Saskatchewan, 1311 Saskatchewan Dr., Regina, SK, S4P 0C9 or The Salvation Army, 2240-13 Ave., Regina, SK, S4P 3M7.  We welcome you to a service and reception at Regina Funeral Home and Cemetery, 4001 East Victoria Avenue, Regina, SK on Saturday, March 31, 2018, 2:00 p.m.
