Obituary of Helen Elizabeth Brandt

BRANDT, HELEN ELIZABETH

(nee Hubick)

August 22, 1935 – April 5, 2018

Helen, late of Regina, SK, passed away on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at the age of 82 years.  She was predeceased by parents, Jacob and Josephine; sister Matilda; brother Harold; and son-in-law Richard Moffatt. Helen will be lovingly remembered by her husband Ernie; four children, Debbie (Dan) Arsenault, Greg (Rhonda), Jason (Heather), and Tracy Moffatt; eight grandchildren, Nathan Moffatt (Allie), Stephanie Arsenault (Mike), Jennifer Arsenault (Brett), Jeremy Arsenault, Paul Brandt (Keely), Sara Brandt (David), Kyle Brandt (Marion), and Kevin Brandt; sister Erma Revil; nieces Sharon Selby  and Linda Wilke (Jack); and nephews Frank and Larry Turgeon.  Helen was a gentle and generous person who loved to cook and garden.  We especially remember her chocolate cakes, her cabbage rolls and her homemade strudel.  Her faith was important to her and as a member of the ELW she contributed much to the various congregations to which she belonged, in particular Christ Lutheran Church.  She dealt with Parkinson’s disease with patience and determination.  Her true character was revealed through her insistence that her brain be donated for Parkinson’s research, she was focused on helping and caring for others right until the very end of her life.  The family extends our deepest gratitude to the staff of Main West at Pioneer Village for the loving care they provided to Helen. Funeral Service will be held at Christ Lutheran Church, 4825 Dewdney Avenue, Regina, SK, on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will take place at a later date. Those so wishing may make memorial donations in Helen’s name to the Parkinson’s Society of Saskatchewan, 610 Duchess Street, Saskatoon, SK, S7K 0R1.
