Obituary of Eileen Florence Forsythe

FORSYTHE - Eileen Florence Forsythe passed away July 27, 2008 at the age of 91, in Regina, SK. Eileen was born in Regina on March 9, 1917. She was predeceased by her parents May and William Barr and her husband Frank in January 1992. She was educated in the city and attended Herchmer School, graduated from Scott Collegiate, and then took a business course at Commercial High School, She was employed by a firm of Chartered Accountants in the city. She enlisted in the W.R.C.N.S. during World War II and served in various locations before joining the Commanding Officer of Naval Divisions. Following the war she worked in the Personnel Office of Sears. In June 1952 she married Frank Forsythe. Eileen is survived by two daughters, Heather McClinton (Keith) of Sedley SK, and Dr. Camilla Forsythe of Memphis TN; four granddaughters: Cahdlah and Camille Forsythe-Barrie and Keirsten and Erin McClinton; sister Elsie (Pat) Clay, Ottawa, ON; and brother, Ralph (Doris) Barr, Regina, SK; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Eileen loved knitting, gardening, baking and reading, and the company of her family and her grandchildren. Over the years she was a member of the Girl Guides Association, Home and School Association, and Regina Council of Women. She was a member of Knox-Metropolitan United Church and the Amity Unit. A Service of Remembrance will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 1, 2008 at Knox-Metropolitan United Church, 2340 Victoria Avenue, Regina with Rev. Dr. Robert A. Kitchen officiating.
