Obituary of John William Kayter

JOHN WILLIAM KAYTER June 4, 1922 – January 4, 2017 John passed away peacefully at Elmview Extendicare in Regina at the age of 94. He was predeceased by his parents, Anton (1969) and Apollina (1964); brothers Martin, Joseph, Andrew, Steve, Frank, Tony, Augustine, Bill, and George; sisters, Mary Geber, Bertha Petreny, Betty Szeles, Annie Dolha, Minnie Lamers, and Margaret; and special friend Sally Kingston. John is survived by sister-in-law Annie (Tony) Kayter; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He will always be remembered for his sense of humour and fantastic musical ability. John entertained many generations with his violin, saxophone, and clarinet music. He played countless weddings, anniversaries, and special gatherings with his own orchestra and was also a member of the Regina Symphony for some years. The family would like to thank the staff of Extendicare Elmview for the excellent care and support of Papa John during his final years. Graveside Service will be held at a later date to celebrate Johnny’s life.
