Obituary of Edgar Donald Zsombor

Ed of Pilot Butte, SK, passed away on Monday, July 3, 2017 at the age of 73 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Marian; three daughters Sheena (Stan) Dundas, Lori Terry and Naomi (Todd) Hoff; five grandchildren, Tiffany and Austin Dundas, Calvin Terry and Anika and Elizabeth Hoff; younger brother Ron (Linda) Zsombor and his family; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws. Ed was predeceased by his parents Louis and Mary; older brother Albert; sister-in-law Mathilda and grandson Nicholas Tate Hoff. Ed was born and raised in the Wakaw, SK area. After high school he went to the University of Saskatchewan where he later graduated as a Civil Engineer. He worked as a Civil Engineer on various projects until his retirement in 2015. Ed returned to part time employment as a Commissionaire for the Regina City Police until his passing. He served on council in Pilot Butte and as the Mayor for twenty four years. Ed enjoyed spending time with his family, watching his grandchildren, reading and playing cards. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 302 King Street, Balgonie, SK on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Edward Hengen V.F. presiding. Interment at Regina Memorial Gardens at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Ed’s name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan, 1738 Quebec Avenue, Unit 26, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, S7K 1V9.
