Obituary of Hilda Cheesman

Tweelee, late of Regina, SK, passed away after a brief hospital visit on Monday, July 3, 2017 at the age of 89 years. She was predeceased by her parents Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hughes and her loving husband Ralph Cheesman. Tweelee is survived by her sons Christopher, his wife Linda, and granddaughter Sarah of Lethbridge, Alberta and Timothy and his wife Donna of Victoria BC and grandson Andrew, his wife Yuki, and great granddaughter Haruhi of Tokyo, Japan. Tweelee was born in Burma now Myanmar on March 26, 1928, and grew up as a Colonial child with schooling in England and summer visiting Burma and Europe. She met the love of her life Ralph while he was returning from World War II, on a ship in the Mediterranean. After, the birth of Christopher and Timothy, the family immigrated to frozen Saskatchewan in November 1955. Tweelee fully supported Ralph in his treks in northern Saskatchewan and numerous Naval Officer activities, and was known as Mrs. Navy or the real Commanding Officer. She enjoyed music, the arts, animals, her Donkey Timothy, travel and was a voracious reader and always had a strong view and opinion on global issues. She enjoyed entertaining, and even though in her later life she was no longer able to do so, she always maintained the importance of doing things properly. She will be missed by many who came across her path and the family would like to thank all those friends and people she met that supported her particularly after her husband’s passing. Although she had views on healthcare she loved her Doctor Jennifer Kuzmicz who provided wonderful care and all those who helped her have quality of life these past years. A Celebration of Her Life will take place on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Luke’s Anglican Church, 3233 Argyle Street, Regina.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Tweelee’s name may be made to the Regina Humane Society, Box 3143, Regina, SK, S4P 3G7.
