Obituary of Wayne Joseph Debert

WAYNE DEBERT

August 10, 1941- July 27, 2017

It is with heavy hearts we announce that Wayne passed away peacefully, with his family by his side on Thursday, July 27, 2017 at the age of 75 years, after a brave battle with cancer. Following his cancer diagnosis, Wayne fought to stay with us as long as he could, and now his work here is done. With faith, resolve, and a smile, he put himself into God's hands. Wayne was predeceased by his parents, Michael and Mary Debert; son Kelly; and brother Larry. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Gladys; son Kent (Leeann) Debert and their children, Jaxon and Randi; daughter Karen (Tim) Hammond and their daughters, Brooklyn and Madison; daughter Kathy (Dean) Davies and their daughters, Kelsey and Kolby; brother Gord (Wendy) Debert; sister Darlene Debert; sister-in-law Joyce Debert as well as many nieces and nephews, and their families. Wayne spent many devoted years on the family farm, where he also raised his family and he remained there until his retirement in 2002.  After retirement, Wayne enjoyed many more years with the family and cheering on the grandchildren in their sporting events. He was a generous and loving Husband, Dad, Papa, Brother, and Friend, and will be missed by all. Funeral Mass will be held at Resurrection Parish, 3155 Windsor Park Road, Regina, SK on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery. The family is thankful for all the prayers and support along Wayne’s journey, as well as the care from the many physicians, nurses, and staff. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Wayne may be made to the Allan Blair Cancer Clinic, 4101 Dewdney Avenue, Regina, SK S4T 7T1.
