Obituary of Alverna Gwenneth Gottschall

ALVERNA GWENNETH GOTTSCHALL GWEN? November 3, 1927 April 17, 2011 Gwen passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday, April 17, 2011 at the Regina General Hospital. She was predeceased by her parents, Clifton and Doris Leach and her brother Charles. Gwen is survived by her loving husband of nearly 59 years, Bill; brother Robert (Wendy); sister-in-law Marion; son Dave (Patti Cossette) and grandchildren Tyresa Curtis (Adrian), Sean Gottschall, Bill Gottschall, Scott Cossette, Blair Cossette and Jordon Cossette and great-grandchildren, Jayda and Keagan Curtis; daughter Karen Schurko (John French) and grandchildren Marianne Schurko (Craig Zamonsky), Michelle Schurko and Michael Schurko (Amanda Sellers) as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Gwen was born in Elkhorn, Manitoba and at an early age, relocated to Regina with her parents. After graduating high school she completed a secretarial course and was employed for a number of years as a secretary. On June 7, 1952, she married Bill Gottschall. Gwen was always a very warm and gracious hostess. After retirement, Gwen and Bill travelled extensively and were very active in the craft field, making jewelry. A Memorial Service will be held at All Saints Anglican Church, 142 Massey Road, Regina on Thursday, April 21, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. with The Rev. Dr. Trish McCarthy officiating.
