Obituary of Helen Shea

Helen Shea (known to loved ones as Chick?) passed away on Wednesday, January 12th, 2011 in good company. Helen was predeceased by her parents John and Wilhelmina Golscheski; stepfather Peter Wolfe; brother George Wolfe; first husband Charles Mondry, second husband Orville Shea; nieces Lorna Wolfe and Terry Wolfe and her beloved daughters Heather Smith and Brenda Larson. Helen is survived by her brothers Joe (Joan) Wolfe, Fred (Dorothy) Wolfe; son-in-law Brian Smith; close friends Vern Hack and Irene Sheppard as well as four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Born in Grenfell, Helen settled in Regina, marrying Chuck? (Charles Mondry), and raising two daughters, with a career at Sears as an office clerk. Upon Chucks passing, Helen would later remarry Orville Shea, with whom she would retire, and be grandparent to four. In retirement, Helen took up the craft of stained glass under the watchful eye of her teacher, her daughter Heather. Together they made many beautiful pieces, several of which remain on display in local churches and restaurants. Helen loved her daughters dearly, and working with her daughter was a special blessing to her. Helen was a very kind and gentle soul. Rather than speak of herself, she most often chose to lend her ears to those around her. Though her body had failed her, Helen remained a strong and caring individual, always concerned that she would never burden others. To those who imposed assistance, her appreciation was most genuine. And those who knew her can take solace in her having been freed from that which pained her. A private interment will be held for family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, friends so wishing may make a donation to the charity of their choice
