Obituary of Antoni Chaberek

Antoni Chaberek passed away on Sunday, January 16, 2011. He was predeceased by his parents Franciszek and Marianna Chaberek and eight brothers and sisters. Antoni is survived by his loving wife, Betty and his two children, son Anthony and daughter Sylvia (Blair) Stonechild; grandchildren Michael, Rachel and Gabrielle; and various nieces and nephews, in particular Teresa Dubovik, all in Poland. Antoni was born October 12, 1917 at Lomza, Poland. In World War II he spent the first two years as a prisoner of war in Siberia in a Russian Internment Camp. He served the rest of the war in England, Scotland, and Europe in the Polish Free Army Parachute Brigade, and moved to Canada in 1955 with his wife and daughter. Antoni has lived in various communities in Saskatchewan, including Regina, Estevan, Matador Co-op Farm and Sanctuary. A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
