Obituary of Joseph Rothe

1912 2011 Joseph, age 98 years, passed away on Friday, January 28, 2011 after a brief illness. Predeceased by his parents Josef and Josephine; his first wife Josie in 1960; second wife Anna in 2000; son-in-law Alfred Lavallee in 2009; brothers, Otto, Max, Norman and Fred; sisters, Jennie Miller, Mary Palmer and Ann Christian, Joseph is survived by two daughters, Margaret (Clarence) Gelowitz of Regina and Rose Marie Lavallee of Moose Jaw; one son Alfred (Linda) of Surrey BC; ten grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; one sister-in-law Madeline Schmidt; two brothers-in-law, Bill and Allan (Pauline) Schmidt; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Joseph farmed the homestead near Touchwood Hills and later moved to Regina and worked at North West Iron Works and Saskatchewan Steel Fabricators. He lived in his own home until at the age of 96 years he moved in with his daughter Margaret. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Peters RC Church, 100 Argyle Street, on Thursday, February 3, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. J. B. Okai presiding. Interment in Regina Memorial Gardens.
