Obituary of Ada Margaret Cook

Ada passed away on Monday, February 7, 2011 at the Regina General Hospital. Born at Atwater, SK on December 6, 1926. Predeceased by her parents Martin and Margit Nervick; sister Meta; brother Terence; and husband Richard. Ada attended High School in Melville and Luther College, Regina. She also attended Saskatoon Normal School and first taught near Wishart, then near Atwater. She attended summer school at the University of Saskatchewan and University of Regina, and taught in Melville, Oxbow and Regina, retiring in 1986. Ada enjoyed the outdoors. Golfing, cycling, and walking were her favourite pastimes as well as summers at the family cottage at Round Lake. Surviving her death, but celebrating her life are three sons David of Moose Jaw, Donald of Regina and Gerald of London, England; also three dear grandchildren Sarah, Adam and Matthew, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina on Thursday, February 10, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Memorial Service will take place at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 3825 Hillsdale Street, Regina on Monday, February 14, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Jim Chimirri-Russell officiating. Private interment will be at Regina Memorial Gardens. Flowers most gratefully declined.
