Obituary of Kenneth William Wallace Harrison

Kenneth, the husband of Gwen, father of Allen of Regina, and of Valerie and Barry Mitschke, and proud granddad of Marcia and Tara Mitschke of Lumsden, died Monday, February 7, 2011. Predeceased by his parents and brother Clifford, Kenneth is survived by his sister Edith (Vernon) Mooney of Nipawin; sisters-in-law Marge Harrison of Regina and Betty Cotton of Thunder Bay as well as several nieces and nephews. Born near Broadview, he grew up in Regina and left high school to join the RCAF as a Wireless Air Gunner. After 50 missions over Europe, Ken was posted to Winnipeg where he met Gwen. They married in 1946, moved to Regina and raised their family. Ken worked for Canada Post, beginning as a Railway Mail Clerk and retiring as Supervisor of Wickets. He was a member of the Air Force Association of Canada, the Royal Canadian Legion, the RUSI, King Hiram Lodge and WaWa Shrine T-birds. A Memorial Service will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina on Monday, February 14, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. Donations in memory of Ken may be made to the Shrine Patient Transportation Fund, c/o WaWa Temple, 2065 Hamilton Street, Regina, SK, S4P 2E1.
