Obituary of Lenna Allen

ALLENOn February 14, 2011, Lenna Pearl (nee Rooney) rejoined her husband and valentine, George who predeceased her in 1990. Lenna was born on the homestead (SW1/4 16-12-19 W2) of her parents, George and Ida (nee Carey) Rooney on August 6, 1916. She married George L. on June 22, 1938, and they operated this same family farm until their retirement in 1978. Lenna was a kind and devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great, great grandmother whose happiest moments were spent surrounded by her family. She excelled in track and field, setting records for Milestone school that still remain today. Lenna also enjoyed music and played both piano and accordion at various town halls and house parties as part of the family band. Lenna is predeceased by her husband George L., son George W., grandson Kelly, parents, W. George and Ida Rooney as well as sisters Edith Carlson, Eva Lawrence and Ella Bird. She is survived by her son, John (Peggy); daughter-in-law, Donna; grandchildren, Carrie (Keith McAuley), Jon (Myra), Robert, Vicky (Darryle Prince); as well as eight great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild; and extra grandson Chris (Vicky) Rogers and family. A Memorial Service is being arranged on Moms birthday with notification to follow.
