Obituary of Joseph Nahnepowisk

It is with heavy hearts the family of Joseph Alex? Nahnepowisk announces his passing on Sunday, February 27, 2011 in the Pasqua Hospital in Regina at the age of 81. He is predeceased by his parents, Marius and Bella; wife Joyce; two sisters, Marjorie and Alice; two brothers, James and John; daughter Audrey; son Howard and two grandsons, Billy Joe and Timothy Roy. Alex is survived and will be lovingly remembered by his two sisters, Isabel Kaiswatum and Rose Dubois; five daughters, Stella (Wayne), Verna, Janet (Vince), Angela (Sean) and Sandra (affectionately known as Tubby); three sons, Ken (Bonita), Kevin (Barb) and Don (Karen); special granddaughter Krissy; sister-in-law Helen Nahnepowisk; brother-in-law Clifford Carrier; special nieces, Rosie, Arla, Shirley, Janice and Isabel as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many special friends. Alex will also be remembered by his special friends Eddie Lavallee, Joe Fourhorns, Harry Francis and Murray Ironchild. The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to George Toto and Jeremy Fourhorns for all their help and support. A Wake will be held at the Piapot Hall, Piapot First Nation on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. Funeral Service will take place at the Piapot Hall on Thursday, March 3, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow in Piapot Cemetery.
