Obituary of Wilhelmina Baer

Mina Baer, late of Regina, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 7, 2011 at the age of 90. Born at Burgis, SK and raised on the family farm, Mina was one of 16 children. She did whatever work was needed on the farm, including cooking, cleaning, and stooking wheat. Mina studied in Buffalo, NY to become a beautician and ran her own successful beauty salon in Ridgeway, ON. In Ridgeway, Mina was a member of the Kinettes. She enjoyed sports, especially curling, and was an avid Bridge player and accomplished ballroom dancer. Mina remained stylish her entire life, taking pride in her appearance. She enjoyed a good joke and was not afraid to speak her mind. Mina was predeceased by her husband, Edward Baer; parents, Louis and Mary Letwin; brothers, Joe, Tony, Ben, Paul and Bill; sisters, Dorothy, Eleanor, Irene and Rosaline. She is survived by her children, Marilyn Ewings, Lynda Gerard (Gerry), Susan Baer (Steve Johnston); six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Alvina, Marjorie, Lee, Marianne; brothers, Lawrence and Louis; and many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina on Friday, March 11, 2011 at 3:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mina, may be made to the Regina Humane Society, P.O.
