Obituary of Jean Millman

Jean Millman, our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend passed away peacefully on the morning of Friday, March 11, 2011 at the age of 89. She was predeceased by her father Stan Robertson in 1979, mother Madeline Robertson in 1967, brother Jack Robertson in 1960 and grandson Fred Keen in 2006. Jean is survived by her loving daughter, Maddy Keen; loving grandson, Barry Keen (Tanya); cherished great-grandchildren, Cody and Tiana Keen and Justin Verzenowski; brother Don (Erika) Robertson and sister Evelyn (Ernie) Hughson and families. Jean worked for 27 years at the Sherwood Co-op cafeteria until she retired. Since that time, she was able to spend a lot of time with her daughter Maddy, whom she adored, along with the other family members. Family always came first to Jean. She relished every opportunity to enjoy the company of her great-grandchildren, and loved making her turkey dinners for us all. She also looked forward to her phone calls and visits with her brother Don who lives in California, and her sister Evelyn who lives in Toronto. There may have been distance between them in miles but not in Jeans heart. She was so happy that she got to see them recently for a very nice visit full of laughs and memories. Jean loved to go shopping, and in her earlier days, loved to dance. Friendship was also very important to Jean. She looked forward to meeting her friends for coffee at the Cornwall Centre on a daily basis. Jean will be greatly missed but will forever be in our hearts. A Celebration of Jeans Life will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue Regina, in the Centennial Room on Wednesday March 16, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. Our family would like to thank the staff at the Pasqua Hospital (4th Floor various units) for their wonderful care and compassion.
