Obituary of Isabel May Carson

Isabel was born September 20, 1920 and passed away peacefully with her family by her side on April 26, 2011. Born and raised in Bethune, Sask, Isabel is survived by her daughter Frances Garbutt, two grandsons, Wayne Garbutt (close family friend Robin Douglas), Keith (Brenda) Garbutt, two great grandsons Tanner Garbutt and Cody (Jennifer) Garbutt and great, great grandson Hunter Garbutt. Also survived by one sister-in-law Irene Medley and numerous nieces and nephews & members of the Carson family. Isabel is pre-deceased by her first husband Quintin Campbell and second husband Gordon Carson, son-in-law Herb Garbutt, parents William & Frances Medley, sisters Mary (Herb) Hannant, Stella (Jim) Fenwick, Martha (Gordon) Carson, Clara (Del) Smith, Madalene (Bill) Atkinson, Effie (Clem) Gingrich, brothers William/Bill Medley, Ross (Pat) Medley, brother-in-law Peter Campbell and sister-in-law Mabel Campbell. Isabel spent many years on the farm. She spent most of her life in the Bethune area. She moved to Regina for 4 years but soon returned home. Isabel was active in the Bethune United Church UCW and a member of the Bethune 50+Club. She enjoyed knitting and baking. Most important in her life was her family. To her they were the greatest gift. The family would like to extend a sincere THANK YOU to Dr. Clein, Ross Larden, the staff at Pasqua Palliative Care and staff at Wascana Grace Hospice for the amazing care and compassion extended to Isabel and our family. Memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 29 at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Ave., Regina. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Pasqua Palliative Care, Wascana Grace Hospice or the Bethune Cemetery Fund.
