Obituary of Cheryl Robinson

Cheryl, late of Regina SK, passed away quietly with family by her side on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at the age of 61 years. Predeceased by her parents Tom and Olga Robinson, Cheryl is survived by her loving brother and guardian Tom Robinson (Suzanne) of Regina; two aunts, Helen (Adam) Huber of Regina and Julie Robinson of Melville; one uncle Bruce Strong of Winlaw, BC and numerous cousins. Cheryl was born in Balcarres, SK and raised in Ituna until the family moved to Regina when Cheryl was 8 so she could attend Harrow Degroot School. Cheryl was one of the first participants at the Cosmopolitan Learning Centre in Regina and attended for over 40 years (until her passing). Cheryls warm and engaging personality enabled her to establish and maintain many lifelong friendships with other participants and staff members. When Cheryls mom and dad passed away, she moved in with Sherry McIntyre, her mother Ruby and young son Mike. Cheryl lived with Sherry and her family for 15 years and became a loved member of the family and a friend of all of Sherrys immediate family and friends. Cheryl moved into Sunset Extendicare in January 2010 and it wasnt long until she worked her charm on the many caregivers and residents at Sunset. Cheryl quickly became a favorite of many of the caregivers and was always eager to help them with some of their duties. A few weeks ago Cheryl had a health issue that required surgery. She developed complications that she wasnt able to recover from. She was able to return to Sunset for a few days to see many of her caregivers and friends before her sudden and untimely passing. Cheryl was a kind and caring soul and greeted everyone with a big smile. Shell be missed by all those that had the opportunity to know her. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, April 30 at 1:00 p.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina with Funeral Celebrant Ron Nagel officiating. Interment in Riverside Memorial Park. Flowers most gratefully declined. Friends so wishing may make donations, in memoriam, to the Cosmopolitan Learning Centre, 810 Edgar Street, Regina, SK S4N 3H9.
