Obituary of May Louise Allan

May, late of Arcola, SK passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2011 at the age of 62 years. Predeceased by her father Andrew Allan; brother John Allan; nephew Warren Wilson; and brother-in-law Bill Horner. May is survived by her children, Marcy Kalberg (Josh) of Bienfait, Kent (Lisa) Kalberg of Griffin; grandchildren, Kale, Jake and Jordan; mother Kathryn Allan of Creelman; sisters, June of Glen Harbour and Sylvia (Tom) of Airdrie; brother Warren (Susan) of Creelman; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. May was born at the Frank Foster farm at Creelman. She rode horseback to Hartaven School with the McKee, Davis, Cameron, Gerry and other families. She worked as a Lab and X-ray Technician at many locations in Saskatchewan, most recently at the Arcola Health Centre. May had a special gift with music, playing several instruments including teaching herself to play her fathers violin after his passing. She enjoyed socializing and kept her friends entertained with her storytelling and addictive sense of humour. She was always quietly stepping in to give a hand to anyone who needed it and patiently fixed anything that was broken. Mays passing leaves a huge hole in the hearts of everyone who loved her. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her grandchildren. As per Mays wishes, a gathering will be held in lieu of a funeral. We will celebrate her life at the farm of Kathryn Allan on Friday, July 22, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. Follow the signs to the farm from Creelman. Everyone is welcome. Friends wishing to make a donation in Mays memory may do so to the Lake Kitchen Party Camp (Childrens Fiddle Camp), Box 354, Carlyle, SK, S0C 0R0.
