Obituary of Leo Vincent Goski

On Friday, July 22, 2011, Leo Goski of Regina passed away peacefully, his family at his side, at the age of 80. Leo was predeceased by his parents, Vincent and Caroline Goski; sisters Mary Goski, Johanna Mishurski, Pauline Puluikis, Vicki Goski, Valerie Seitz and Dorothy Tansley. He is survived by sisters Marta Goski (Daughters of Charity), Margaret Floyd, Phyllis Kurek, Betty (Morley) Seitz and Jeannine (Paul) Gervais. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 58 years, Jo (ne Reader) and their three daughters, Catherine (Curt) Giene, Lloydminster; Diane (Mike Zimmerman), Regina; and Karen (Kimball) Scott, Stony Plain. Papa? was devoted to grandchildren Carl, Leroy, Spencer, Matthew and Amanda; step-grandchildren Chelsey, Cole, Carly and Cayley; and especially great-grandchildren Reid, Lily, Taylor, Chace and Scarlet. He will be missed and fondly remembered by his loving sisters-in-law Marlene (Gordon) Hoffert and Yvonne Ehman and the family, friends, nieces and nephews who were so special to him. WaLaHoGo! Leo was a Director at Sask. Housing and retired from work in the finance industry. He enjoyed playing his guitar around campfires, was a Cub Scout leader during the familys Calgary years, and on return to Regina he instructed the Christopher Course across southern Saskatchewan. After retirement he became a very active senior, traveling with Jo in Canada, the U.S., Caribbean islands, and on an unforgettable trip to Rome and Mediterranean cruise. A long-time choir director at Little Flower RC Church, he was also a community producer and host for Access televisions Melodies series. He recently rebuilt his 1960s invention, the Go-Ski forerunner to todays Jet Ski and an idea before its time and was in discussion with civic officials to build affordable housing in Saskatchewan communities. Prayers will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina on Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will take place at Little Flower RC Church, 420 College Avenue, Regina on Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Barry Anwender presiding. Interment in Riverside Memorial Park.
