Obituary of Hilda Frances Bancescue

A life well lived with a deeply loving family, a lot of laughter and great friends defined Hilda Frances Bancescue. Following a brief illness, surrounded by her loved ones, she died peacefully at home on Sunday, August 28, 2011 at the age of 88 years. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Peni (John) Bogard; son Shane (Debbie Barker); her grandchildren, John, Courtney, Allyson, Joel, Joshua, Kaley; and her great-grandchildren Brooke, Sawyer, and Niko. She is survived by her sisters Helen Philley and Anne Heath; her brothers Butch, Lyle, and David Miller and numerous nieces and nephews. Hilda, in her own words, enjoyed life and had fun this was reflected in her ready smile and positive attitude. She was very active and independent and found great pleasure through travel, golf, and the company of friends. Hilda passed along her grace, ease, and strength to everyone who had the honour of knowing her. She touched people with her kindness, infectious laugh, unwavering patience, and genuine acceptance of people for who they were. She proudly loved her large family and was often a source of continuity, strength and nourishment, both emotional and physical, to each of them.
