Obituary of Donald Gordon Wilson

It is with sadness we announce Donalds sudden passing on Sunday, September 4, 2011 at 56 years of age. He was predeceased by his parents, Ray and Pat Wilson and his son Warren. Don is survived and will be lovingly remembered by his wife Linda and children, Barry (Laura) and Wyatt, and Falynn and Brandon; his siblings, Chuck (Darla), Wendy (Dennis) and Karen; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Donald was born in the Fillmore Hospital, and attended school in Creelman, Saskatchewan. After a brief time living in Alberta, Don returned to Creelman to help with the family farm, which he continued to own and operate. Farming was his life. Don was well known for his sense of humour and his honest and direct opinions. He was the youngest mayor of the Town of Creelman. Don was involved with the Drama Club, the development of the Kenosee Golf Course, the Weyburn Inland Terminal, and was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion for 36 years. In his younger days, he enjoyed playing hockey, ball and curling. Despite his many accomplishments, Dons greatest treasures were his children and grandson. He was so proud of each and every one of them. A Graveside Service will be held at the Golden Gates Cemetery in Creelman, Saskatchewan on Thursday, September 8, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. Donations, in memory of Don may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion, Fillmore Branch, Fillmore, SK, S0G 1N0.
