Obituary of Lorna Margaret Ellen Sinclair

Lorna passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer with her sons by her side on Monday, September 5, 2011. She was born in the town of Arcola, SK on December 13, 1933 and was raised on a farm near Wordsworth, SK. After graduating from High School in Arcola, Lorna taught at a one room schoolhouse in the Arcola area for a year and later worked as a telephone operator. Lorna was married in 1955 and had three sons. She raised her boys in Arcola until she moved to Regina in 1972. Her life-long love for reading led her to a career at the Regina Public Library until her retirement in 1998. Lorna was predeceased by her parents Roy and Florence Cann; siblings Merlin Cann (Rose), Elmer (Isabel), Earl, Robert, Donalda McElheran (Ford), and Bill (Elaine). Lorna is survived by her sons Dean (Lorraine), Kevin (Maureen), and Bryan: grandsons Cato (Sarah) and Merlin: and great-grandchildren Marcus and Hera; sisters Betty Cochrane (Boyd), Darlene DeJong, and brother Dick Cann, and by numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Service will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina on Friday, September 9, 2011 at 3:30 p.m. Interment in Arcola Cemetery on Saturday, September 10, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. with a tea to follow at the Arcola Legion Hall. A special thank you to Dr. Meiers and the incredible staff on 6A at the Regina General Hospital for all of the loving care they provided. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Lorna may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 1910 McIntyre Street, Regina, SK, S4P 2R3.
