Obituary of Rene Joseph Guy Cantin

Rene, late of Regina, passed away suddenly on Saturday, October 1, 2011 at the age of 72 years. Predeceased by his grandson Richard Cantin; parents Joseph and Alice Cantin; and brother Raymond Cantin. Rene is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Elizabeth; son Richard (Patrice) Cantin; daughters Bernadette (Bill) Maier, Suzette (Bill) Trenaman, Lynette (Barry) Huber; grandchildren Joseph (Samantha), Matthew, Calvin (Terra Anne), Renee, Robyn, Justin, and Tiffany; brother Dennis (Doris) Cantin; sister Theresa (Peter) Guerin; sister-in-law Rose Cantin; his cherished 101 year old Aunt Lucy; numerous nieces and nephews, and several cousins. Rene was very involved in his early years in the Kinsmen Club; in later years he was a member and held several offices as well as being past president of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. Renes other interests were his prized 1953 Mercury Meteor that he has shown for the past several years. He also enjoyed being the 13th Man at the Saskatchewan Roughrider games, in which he held season tickets for many years. If he wasnt busy going to his grandchildrens special events he spent his time travelling. Funeral Service will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. followed by a luncheon at Eagles Club. Interment to be held at a later date.
