Obituary of Ralph W. Green

June 27, 1921 May 14, 2011 Ralph, late of Regina, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at the age of 89 years. Predeceased by his parents, Eva and Dick Green and infant son, Douglas; Ralph is survived by his loving wife, Jeanetta (Shewfelt); sister, Ethel Lawson of Grandview, MB; his daughter, Sharon Graham of Redlands, CA; son, Richard (Paulette) Green of Regina and daughter, Betty (Rob) Mayer of Strathmore, AB. Ralph and Jan have had the pleasure of seeing seven grandsons; Rod (Catherine) Graham, Andy Graham, Kevin (Brandy) Green, Ryan (Christine) Green, Donovan (Robyn) Green, Dan (Jessica) Mayer, Luke (Katie) Mayer; and seven great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Emilia, Jackson, William, Remy, Jackson and Finley light up their lives. Ralph and his older sister, Ethel grew up as farm kids.? Ralph started his education in a one room school in Tamarisk and completed his Grade 12 in Grandview. He always dreamed of flying and was eager to join the Air Force during World War II. He eventually became a decorated Squadron Leader of the 424 Bomber Squadron. He and his crew became very close and kept in touch over the years. Ralph married Jan Shewfelt and always told his children that it was the best decision he ever made in his life. Although he was a successful contractor (Shamrock Construction) and farmer in his retirement,? he considered his close family and friends his biggest blessing. He enjoyed being a member of the Lions and the United Services Club. He was a wonderful storyteller and it is with love and laughter that we recount those stories he gifted to us.
