Obituary of David Alanson Rees

With heavy hearts the family of John Rees announces his passing as the result of a motor vehicle accident in Meath Park, Saskatchewan. John is survived by: parents, Alan and Barbara Rees of Fredericton, NB; twin sister Victoria Rees and her daughter Grace Rees, of Baileyville, ME; son Kye Rees, six years old, of La Ronge, SK, daughter Sydney Rowinski, sixteen years old, of Fredericton, NB; many cousins, aunts and uncles, including special uncle Don Booker, of Fredericton, NB; and a plethora of friends from the International Aviation Fraternity. John was a Twin Otter Captain for Kenn Borek Air Ltd. of Calgary. He embraced the challenging work of Arctic flying and loved every minute of the 15 years he spent working as a commercial pilot. Johns greatest joys in life were: being Dad; making new friends; flying to new places; hunting; and fishing. He excelled at everything he did and his friends speak of his kindness, integrity and, sense of humour. A Memorial Service will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Ave., in Regina SK on Thursday, October 13 at 3:30p.m., and at York Funeral Home in Fredericton, NB on October 22 at 1:00p.m. In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to make a donation, in memory of John, to the Make-A-Wish Foundation Canada, 521 4211 Yong Street, Toronto, ON M2P 2A9.
