Obituary of Wesley Earle McCaslin

McCaslin, Wesley Wes? Earle It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Wes McCaslin at the age of 60 after a short, but courageous battle with cancer. Wes passed away peacefully in the early morning of April 21, 2011 at the Pasqua Hospital in Regina, SK, surrounded by family. Wes was predeceased by his parents Alexander and Rose McCaslin. Wes is survived by his loving wife Barb and devoted daughter Kelly both of Regina; step-daughter Leanne Bourdages and her children Keaton, Ashlynn and Ryder of Saskatoon; brothers Lynn (Helen) McCaslin and David (Bobbie) McCaslin of Regina; the late Connie Trimble (Patrick) of Saskatoon; brother-in-law Cliff (Paulette) Lawrick of Cochrane, AB; sister-in-law Laverne (Glenn) Stevenson of Regina; mother-in-law Lois Lawrick (Nick Yorga) of Assiniboia; Kellys mother Heather McCaslin of Regina; and numerous nieces and nephews. Wes was born on July 27, 1950 in Kincaid, SK as the youngest son of Alex and Rose. He grew up in Meyronne, SK, where much of his time was spent playing and excelling at local sports, including hockey and baseball. In recent years he enjoyed curling, travelling and cruising in his little white Miata. Wes spent his career in the financial industry working for the Bank of Montreal, Co-operative Trust and most recently as a Senior Financial Consultant for MD Management Ltd. He will be remembered for the love and devotion he showed to his family, friends and clients, his quick wit and sense of humour (which were both present until the end) and his dedication as an avid fan and shareholder with the Saskatchewan Roughriders. A special thanks to Dr. Jancewicz, Dr. McLeod and the nurses of unit 3B at the Pasqua Hospital for the care and compassion shown to Wes and his family. A Visitation will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, on Monday, April 25, 2011 from 6:00 8:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held at Regina Apostolic Church, 808 Assiniboine Avenue East, Regina, on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Ernie Metz officiating.
