NORMA TOINETTE MCKAGUE (nee DAHL) Mrs. Norma Toinette McKague (nee Dahl) of Regina, SK, beloved wife of the late Allan McKague of Lethbridge, AB, passed away at the William Booth Wascana Grace Hospice on Thursday, April 21, 2011 at the age of 90 years. She is the loving mother of two sons, Garth (Charlotte) of Regina, SK and Dwight (Lori) of Calgary, AB; grandchildren, James (Trish), Caroline (Shawn) and Robert (Dawn) of Regina, SK and Shannon (Josh) of North Vancouver, BC; great-grandchildren, Catrina and Micheal; and step-great-grandchildren Mike and Jamie of Regina. Norma is also survived by two brothers, Orville (Laura) Dahl of Assiniboia, SK and Arne Dahl of Souris, MB. She is predeceased by her parents Evind (Ed) and Inga Dahl; sisters, Hazel Larsen and Lila Lovick. Norma, the youngest of 5 children, was born on the Dahl farm, near Viceroy, SK on November 30, 1920. She took her education in Greenfield School and graduated high school in Viceroy, SK. She attended business college in Moose Jaw. She worked for the Royal Bank in Ogema, SK and Vancouver, BC, Western Drilling Supplies in Moose Jaw, SK and Alpha Milk in Lethbridge, AB. Norma married her childhood sweetheart, Allan McKague, on May 10, 1942. They celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary in 2005. Together they lived in Vancouver, BC, Petawawa-Kingston, ON, Viceroy and Moose Jaw, SK, and Lethbridge, AB. After Allans passing, she returned to Saskatchewan to live close to family in Regina. Music was her passion. In her youth she played the clarinet in the Viceroy Jubilee Band, and years later she played piano for Andys Combo? in Moose Jaw during the 1960s and 70s. Her other interests included travel, knitting and crocheting, cooking (the best apple pies in the country!), reading, crossword puzzles and cryptograms, watching sports and was actively involved with the Southern Alberta Rock Hounds. Her meticulous journal keeping has left a lasting written legacy for her family. Special thanks to Dr. Kluz, Dr. Clien and the staff of the Pasqua Palliative Care Centre and William Booth Wascana Grace Hospice, and the residents of Lakeridge Terrace for their support and friendship.
