Obituary of James Emery Rusnak

JAMES E. RUSNAK James Rusnak passed away suddenly on Monday, April 25, 2011 at the age of 96. Predeceased by his parents, siblings and his wife of 60 years, Anna, James is survived by his daughter Rosemarie (Roger) Anderson of Regina; son James (Janet) Rusnak of Saskatoon; grandchildren, Brad (Amanda), Chad (Natasha), Rene (Jared), Tania and James; and great-grandchildren, Austin, Evan and Ethan. Born November 12, 1914 in Melville, Saskatchewan, James was the son of Barbara and John Rusnak, along with seven siblings. He worked the homestead in Melville until leaving in his late teens. He was a Petty Officer in the Royal Navy during WWII and served overseas in the Atlantic. He took pride in his independence, his family and his career. James operated numerous restaurants and hotels during his long career in the industry and was a constant achiever. He retired at the age of 85 after a fulfilling career as an Executive Chef. Funeral Mass will be held at Christ the King RC Church, 3239 Garnet Street, Regina on Friday, April 29, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. A private interment will take place in Riverside Memorial Park.
