Obituary of Zofia 'Sophie' Zimbaluk

ZOFIA SOPHIE? ZIMBALUK March 25, 1931 April 28, 2011 Zofia Sophie? passed away peacefully in the Palliative Care Unit at the Pasqua Hospital. Sophie was sadly predeceased by her loving husband Wally and her three sons, Lorne David, Gerry and Daniel. Sophie leaves to mourn her passing and treasure her memory her precious granddaughters, Katrina and Kaylin Zimbaluk (their mother Roma Sagasz); Sophies sisters, Ann, Sylvia, Stella, Olga and Phyllis; brothers, Elias, Leo, Orest and Andrew; and sister-in-law Helene and their families. Sophie survived many hardships and tragic losses in her 80 years but still found purpose to her life. Her granddaughters, Katrina and Kaylin, to whom she referred to as her blessings, spent the last two years as her caregivers and advocates. Sophie trusted and loved her girls unconditionally and they reciprocated with the same love, respect and greatest affection. Funeral Service will be held at St. Matthews Anglican Church, 2161 Winnipeg Street, Regina on Monday, May 2, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Carlos C. Roberts officiating. Interment to follow the service in Regina Memorial Gardens. Special thanks to the Hillsdale Care Home (Beatrice and Emmanuel Aito and staff) for their daily care of Sophie; and to her good friend of 40-plus years, June Oliver who also resided at the home.
