Obituary of Edna Threinen

THREINEN, Edna Emelie (nee WENZEL) Edna passed away peacefully, with family at her side, at Wentworth Manor in Calgary, Alberta on Friday, June 17, 2011 at the age of 98 years. She was the beloved wife for 52 years of the late Reinhold Threinen, Lutheran Pastor at Saskatchewan parishes in Leader, Haultain, Pangman, Lipton and Regina, and at parishes in Calgary, Alberta and Beausejour, Manitoba. Edna was the daughter of the late Arnold and Marie Wenzel. She was predeceased by her two sons, Wilmar and Vernon, and is survived by her daughter Alice Thomas (Bob), her cherished grandchildren Rhonda Kerr, Carla Fandry, Derek Threinen, Carolyn Threinen, Tim Threinen, Jennifer Gauthier, Sam Threinen and nine great-grandchildren. She is survived by sister Welma Schneider, brother Benno Wenzel and daughters-in-law Betty Threinen and Judy Threinen. She was predeceased by her sister Laura and brothers Erwin, Harold, Walter, Oscar, Gilbert, Lothar and Hubert. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Grace Lutheran Church, 1037 Victoria Avenue, Regina SK on Wednesday, June 22 at 11:00 a.m., followed by a private interment. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Lutheran Hour Ministries in Canada, or to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation.
