Obituary of Mary Marecki

MARY MARECKI Mary, born in 1920 at Sturgis, Saskatchewan. It is with great sadness we announce her passing, our beloved mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend on Thursday, September 15, 2011. Predeceased by her loving husband Mickey in 1978. Mary leaves to mourn her devoted son John and special daughter-in-law Marie; two dear granddaughters, Jackie (Jeff) and Janet (Chris); five great-grandchildren, Jordan, Justin, Jillian, Emma and Matt. She is also survived by her dear sister Rose; dear brother Archie; sisters-in-law, Eve and Betty; as well as many nieces and nephews, friends and other relatives. She was also predeceased her dear parents, Peter and Alexandra Strilchuk; sisters, Pauline and Lena; brothers, John, Reverend Johnny and George; sister-in-law Thelma; and very special friend Peter Bacsu. Mary touched many lives and those that knew her will have an everlasting memory of her love, strength and generosity to others. Her great love was her family. Mary and her late husband Mickey operated the Husky House Restaurant and Service Station for seventeen years with success and have many fond memories. She was a member of long standing of St. Michaels Bukovinian Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Royal Canadian Legion Auxiliary and Regina Senior Centre. Funeral Service will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina on Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. with Very Rev. Archpriest Slawomir Lomaszkiewicz officiating. Interment in Regina Memorial Gardens. Visitation for family and friends will start at 11:00 a.m., day of the Service.
