Obituary of Flora Virginia Kotowich

On Monday, October 3, 2011, Flora passed away peacefully at the age of 86 years. She is predeceased by her husband Leo; parents Joseph and Margaret McAuley; sisters Lily, Muriel and Valerie; brothers Dougall, Richard and Dan; and son-in-law William Denny. Flora is survived by her ten children: Theresa MacPhail, Richard (Pat Erhardt), Leona, Gregory, Helen (Joe Lathlin), Joseph (Jeannie Masney), Marian (Bob Laval), Michael, Noreen (Barry Spence) and Susan (John Stromich); her grandchildren Terra (Richard Malette) and Ian, Roberta (Booker Cornea), Jeanette, Graham and Carmen, Lindsay, Brennan and Stephen, Iris and Margaret, Nolan, Palmer and Leo, Jocelyn and Regan; great-grandchild Anais Malette; sisters Myrtle (Robert) de Meulles and Rosina (George) MacCaulay; brothers Murray (Norma) McAuley, Leon McAuley and Robert (Doris) McAuley; as well as numerous nieces and nephews; and close friends Marie, Dorothy, and Marilyn, and also Yvette. Flora was born in Cumberland House, Saskatchewan. She married and moved to Regina Eastview where she raised her children in a modest home. Strengthened by an abiding Catholic faith and supported by her husband and relatives, she overcame many challenges. She dearly loved her grandchildren. Friends and family found comfort in her presence and were always renewed by all she generously shared. Resting from all her good works and in faith she goes on to her great reward, Prayers will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina on Thursday, October 6, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will take place at Holy Rosary Cathedral, 3125 13th Avenue, Regina, on Friday, October 7, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. Interment in Riverside Memorial Park. The family would like to express gratitude to the physicians, interns and nurses of RGH-6F, and the support of Spiritual Care and Native Health Services.
