LINDSKOG, Steven

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Steven Lindskog at the age of 65 years. Steven is survived by his wife Donna of 44 years; son Jeff (Leah); daughter Barb (Adam) Kurtz; granddaughters Sarah and Emily; mother Dorothy; brother Stan (Sylvia); sister Verna (Roman) Mitura; mother-in-law Marion Gilchrist; sister-in-law Bonnie (Ken) Spruyt; brothers-in-law Grant Gilchrist (Laura Stewart) and David Gilchrist (Analea Wayne); as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Sidney; father-in-law Eugene Gilchrist and sister-in-law Michele Gilchrist.

Steven grew up four miles west of Maxim, SK on the family farm. He took grades 1 to 5 in Colgate and 6 to 12 in Radville.  Steven graduated from the University of Regina with a degree in Computer Science in 1977 and spent his career working in information technology at SaskTel.  He enjoyed staying active and played in the corporate basketball, slow pitch and bowling leagues. Steven was always finding ways to help out, be it writing a program to calculate bowling scores, working bingo fundraisers, giving his needlework as gifts or donating blood over 300 times.  He loved to travel to many warm destinations, eventually spending summers at the cabin on Crooked Lake, SK and winters in Mesa, Arizona.  Steven battled various health problems for the last sixteen years including anemia, fevers, liver disease, and Parkinson’s, and passed away peacefully in the Pasqua Hospital Palliative Care Unit in Regina on August 13, 2020.

Graveside Service will be held at Regina Memorial Gardens, 4001 East Victoria Avenue, Regina, SK on Saturday, August 22, 2020 at 2:00 p.m.  Family and friends so wishing may make donations, in memoriam, to the Red Cross Regina, 2050 Cornwall Street, Regina, SK S4P 2K5 or a charity of one’s choice.
