Obituary of Ina 'Margaret' Weeks

On Sunday, September 26, 2010, Ina Margaret Weeks of Regina passed away at the age of 90 years. Margaret, daughter of Tony and Jemina Hamilton of Moose Jaw was born May 1, 1920. She is survived by her husband, Frank Weeks; brothers Jim and Lad, and her three grandchildren Robert, Kevin and David. Margaret was predeceased by her daughter Arleen Hynd; sister Lois and her brothers Roy, Bob and William (Bill). Margaret grew up in Moose Jaw and as the eldest daughter spent much time caring for her younger siblings. One of her fondest memories was spending time at the family cottage at Regina Beach that included lake swimming and working at the Dizzy Del.? After marrying Frank Weeks, a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, they were blessed with one daughter, Arleen Hynd in July of 1944. Franks career carried them through numerous communities in southern Saskatchewan where Margaret continued to teach swimming lessons. In her later years after settling permanently in Regina, Frank and Margaret enjoyed many trips to Arizona, Hawaii and Victoria while also maintaining a regular presence at the Lawson Aquatics centre. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 9, 2010 in the RCMP Chapel, 5600 11th Avenue, Regina with Chaplain D. Allan Higgs officiating. Interment will follow in the RCMP Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society 1910 McIntyre Street, Regina, SK, S4P 2R3.
