Obituary of Elsie Teresita Ripplinger

Elsie, beloved wife of Max, passed Saturday, October 2, 2010 surrounded by her loving family. Survived by son, Mark (Shauna) Ripplinger and his daughters Sarah, Amy (Chris Exner) and Avery Bauer; daughter, Sheila (Robert) Krohn and their children: Jaylene (Chris Hansen), Devin (Heather), Bryant; Great grandchildren: Soren & Isla Hansen; Siblings: Arnie (Barb) Zimmerman, Eileen (Ian) Kilpatrick, Marilyn (George) Brown, Adela (Orville) Kittelson, Lucille (Robert) Wanner, Cyrilla (Dennis Schafer) Zimmerman, Dermit (Dawn) Zimmerman & Amelda (Tom) Mossing, numerous treasured nieces & nephews, and special sister-in-law Mary (Walter) Rog. Elsie was predeceased by her two infant baby girls, her parents, Theresa & Marcus Zimmerman, brother Norman Zimmerman, sisterin-law and good friend, Paula Zimmerman. Elsie was a founding member of the South Saskatchewan Cardiac Support Group a year after her first cardiac surgery. She spent 1 to 2 days a week over the next 9 years at both the Plains and General hospitals visiting cardiac patients, providing support and handing out heart pillows. Always a smile on her face and warm words of welcome, Elsie found great pleasure in spending time with her cherished family and friends. It was especially pleasurable for her to entertain at her beach house near Rowans Ravine. She was well renowned for her scrumptious cooking and bakingoften using ingredients grown in her own garden. Elsie was a gifted conversationalist. Her light hearted chatter and easy laughter will be missed at coffee row and at the St. Peters senior center. Deeply committed to her faith Elsie was a member of the CWL for 63 years. The family would like to extend heartfelt appreciation to Dr. A Moustapha and the medical team at the General who tended so compassionately and professionally to her in her time of need. Prayers will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 5, 2010. Funeral Mass to celebrate Elsies life will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1021 McCarthy Blvd N, Regina, on Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan, 279- 3rd Ave. N, Saskatoon, S7K 2H8.
