Obituary of Evangelia Papadas
PAPADAS, Evangelia
With deep sorrow in our hearts we say goodbye to Evangelia who died peacefully on Friday, October 2, 2020 at the age of 90 with her loving children, grandchildren, son-in-law and friend by her side. Our mother was a kind, gentle, peaceful and loving soul who unconditionally loved her family, above everything else. Evangelia was predeceased by her husband, Panagiotis in 1999. She leaves behind her daughters Anastasia, Stela (Peter); grandchildren Panagiota (Nikolaos), Dimitri and Evangelia; siblings Christos (deceased), Eleni (deceased), Anastasia, Efthemiou, Stiliani and Kostantinos; sisters-in-law; brothers-in-law; nieces and nephews; and extended family and friends. Evangelia was born in Athikia Korinthias, Greece, in 1930. She immigrated to Canada in the late 1950’s in search for a better life. Two years later, Evangelia raised enough money to sponsor her future husband and they started their new life in Canada. She found pleasure being surrounded by family and friends. Evangelia’s purpose was raising her daughters and later her grandchildren. She was a talented seamstress by trade. Evangelia will be missed by all whose lives she touched and especially by her loving grandchildren, daughters and son-in-law. Goodbye our loving angel. Special thanks to Father Spyros Vandoros and to all the healthcare providers at Parkside Extendicare and the Regina General Hospital for all their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Evangelia’s name to the St. Paul’s Greek Orthodox Church, 3000 Argyle Road, Regina, SK. Prayers will take place at St. Paul’s Greek Orthodox Church, 3000 Argyle Road, Regina, SK on Monday, October 5, 2020 at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Service will take place at St. Paul’s Greek Orthodox Church on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. with Interment to follow at Regina Memorial Gardens, 4001 East Victoria Avenue, Regina, SK.
