Obituary of Shu Kam Chow

CHOW, Shu Kam

The family of Shu Kam Chow of Regina, SK, is deeply saddened to announce her peaceful passing on October 16, 2020 at the age of 90.  She came to Canada from Kaiping, Guangdong, China in 1981 with her husband, Fin Mew Chow and three younger children. Her two older sons moved to North America in the 1990’s. Shu Kam will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 73 years, Fin Mew Chow; children, YongJi (Yin Zhen) Zhou, Wing Toy (Shek Ho) Chow, Janet (Ian) Hall, Mike (Bessy) Chow and Kevin (Pauline) Chow; grandchildren, Hui Mei and Christina Zhou, Solana and Hok Mon Chow, Allan Hall, Tina (Cory) Gooch, Jessy Chow (Gordon Chan), Denise Chow (Jim Lu), Cindy, Raymond and Ronny Chow; great-grandchildren, Tommy Chen, Charles and Isabelle Gooch, Elise and Phoebe Lu, and Joey Chan; as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. The family wishes to send a special thank you to the nurses and doctors of 5F, the dialysis unit at the Regina General Hospital and Senior House Calls Saskatchewan.  In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Shu Kam’s name to the Kidney Foundation of Canada, Saskatchewan Branch, 2217 Hanselman Ct #1, Saskatoon, SK S7L 6A8.  A Funeral Service with Reverend David Fong officiating will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. with Interment to follow at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery, 815 Assiniboine Avenue East.  To view the livestream of the service please visit Shu Kam’s Tribute Page.
