Obituary of Gordon Edward Wills

WILLS, Gordon Edward

August 23, 1933 – November 16, 2020

Gordon Edward Wills, late of Regina, Saskatchewan, left us on Monday, November 16, 2020 at the age 87 years, to be with his Lord and Saviour. Gord, as he was known to his family and friends, married Ruth (nee Bechtold) on October 12, 1963 in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.  Gord and Ruth eventually moved to their family home in Regina and had two children Darren, and April (Brent).  He always said one of the best gifts he ever received were his two grandchildren, Courtney and Ethan, who he cherished and loved spending time with. Our Dad was a strong family man and enjoyed over 57 years of marriage with Ruth, whom he truly loved and adored. Dad had a long and rewarding career as a Radio, Television and Appliance Technician, which began with the Robert Simpson Company and included over 25 years with General Electric.  He officially retired in 1994 and settled into retired life with Ruth and his extended family.  Over the years, he enjoyed listening to classical music, spending time at the family farm near Duval, Saskatchewan and at the cottage he built for his family at Saskatchewan Beach. Dad was a long-time member of Mount Olive Lutheran Church.  He remained active in the church into his later years and enjoyed meeting with his “in motion” friends and participating in regular worship activities.  Our Dad set a strong example of faith for both his family and friends. Gord appreciated the work and friendship of the many people he met at both Regina Pioneer Village and the Regina Lutheran Home.  Dad was a kind and caring man and made a strong impression on the many people who had the pleasure of spending time with him over the years. A private Memorial Service will be held for Gordon Wills, and in lieu of flowers any donations may be sent to his memorial fund at Mount Olive Lutheran Church.
