Obituary of Albert Dickson

DICKSON, Albert

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Albert Dickson on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at the age of 88 years. Al was born on December 4, 1931, and raised on the family farm near Semans, SK. He then moved to Regina where he met his wife Mildred Cota, and had a 42-year career with Auto Electric Service. Dad was an honest, hardworking, and family oriented man who was quick to lend a hand with anything from farming, to building, to car repair. In his retirement, Dad spent a lot of time in the garage making bird houses, furniture, or anything we asked for out of wood. Dad, we will miss the attentive and humble repose of your visits, and the humour of your storytelling and jokes. Grandpa, if we don’t see you in the future, we will see you in the pasture. Albert is survived by his wife of 63 years Mildred; his sons Darrell (Diane) and Jack (Karen); his daughter Bonnie (Rob) Antonini; his grandchildren Nicole (Dean) O’Dell, Scott (Krista), Stephanie, AJ (Kayla), Nicholas and Jessica Rae; great-grandchildren Finley, Grady and Madelyn; sister Flo (Chris) Dizy; sisters-in-law Ruth Prince and Elnor Murrison; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Albert was predeceased by his granddaughter Vanessa Dickson; parents John and Margaret Dickson; brothers Robert Dickson and John (Lillian) Ingram; sister and brother-in-law Dorothy and Al Bott; mother and father-in-law Clarence and Doris Cota; brother-in-laws Percy Cota, Frank Prince, and Andrew Murrison; and niece Julie Prince. A service for Dad will be held at a later date when family will be able to gather together. We would like to thank the nursing staff at the Regina Pasqua Hospital Palliative Care Unit (3A) for the exceptional care of our Dad. Flowers are gratefully declined, but those so wishing may make donations to the Hospitals of Regina Foundation or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
