THURM, Anne

Anne Thurm of Regina Saskatchewan, a beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away peacefully on Dec. 22, 2020 at the age of 89. Following several years with dementia, Anne left a world of strangers and went to spend Christmas with her loved ones who went before her. She was predeceased by her loving husband and best friend, Albert Thurm; her parents Ernest and Minnie Buhse; her sister Helen (Dave) Weimer; brother William (Irene) Buhse; brothers-in-law Norman (Jennie) Thurm, Walter Thurm, Paul (Edna) Thurm, and Roy Thurm; sister-in-law Anne (Edward) Yanz, Nick Biesenthal; and several nieces and nephews. Anne is survived and will be missed by her sister and best friend, Elsie Biesenthal; her daughters, Shirley Thurm, Faye (Craik Wotherspoon) and their children, Chantel (Brian LaHaye) and their sons {Nicholas, Elijah and Dominec LaHaye}, Trent (Stephanie) Wotherspoon and their son {William Wotherspoon}, Shauna (Grant Weninger) and their sons {Gavin, Nolan and Carson Weninger},  Marlene (Alfred Fenske) and their children, Joanna (Marty Ledoux) and their daughters {Parker and Cooper Ledoux}, Mark Fenske, Jacquelyn (Brent Neufeld) and their children {Janae and Nash Neufeld}; sisters-in-law Claire Keil, Phyllis Thurm; and several nieces and nephews. Anne was an avid vegetable and flower gardener spending countless hours nurturing her garden and her beautiful flower beds and pots. Her vegetable garden was her pride and joy. She canned and preserved vegetables to provide for her family during the winter months. It was her joy to share her produce with friends and family. It was always washed and ready for pick up and dining. Anne loved to bake and cook and to host family to enjoy a meal and dessert as well as to share care packages of food and treats which were loved by family. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy of her life. Anne would drop everything in order to play, visit, entertain, have lunch or shop with them. Anne had many friends from her church family, her neighbourhood and Sears, where she worked for many years. Private Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. To view the livestream of the service please click on the highlighted link directly above Anne’s obituary on her Speers’ tribute page.
