Obituary of John Nicholas Froh
It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of John Froh at the age of 95. John was a man who took great pleasure in his family. None will miss him more than his wife, Irene, his truly beloved partner and friend of whom he said, “I’m the luckiest man in the world.” John had a great appreciation of the natural world. He knew what an animal or plant needed to be healthy and lamented when it was not. John loved fishing and gardening and had a bright and active mind to the end. He helped everybody with everything under the sun and supplied raspberries to us all from his backyard patch in the garden. John was a rock to all who knew him. His memory survives in all of us. John died as an example: a complete man, a fully realized man, a successful man in all the ways that count, a happy man, and we miss him. He is survived and celebrated by his wife Irene; his children, son Perry (Sharon), daughter Lorrie (Wayne), daughter Tamara (Ralph) and son Ron (Cecilia); his seven grandchildren, Thomas, Kelsey, Kristan, Leah, Christa, Benjamin and Zoe; nine great-grandchildren; three siblings, Marlene, Robert and Kenneth; and a rich tapestry of extended family of in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews and neighbors to whom he extended generosity all of his life and who will also cherish his memory. Donations in memory of John may be made to STARS, Shock Trauma Air Rescue Service, 1441 Aviation Park NE, Box 570, Calgary, AB T2E 8M7.
