Obituary of Grant James MacDonald
Grant James Macdonald, late of Regina, SK, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 9, 2021 at the age of 91 years. Predeceased by his parents, Herman and Wilma (Crook); and brother Garnet Macdonald. Grant was born December 9, 1929 in Regina, Saskatchewan and graduated from Central High School. He was never afraid of new adventures. As a young man, Grant went out to the west coast and the Yukon. In Regina, he pursued his entrepreneurial opportunities creating and developing Sherwood Forest Country Club and then moving to real estate for the next 40 years. Including building his own brokerage firm, Mr. and Mrs. Real Estate. Grant, like his brother, enjoyed sailing. He sailed Long Lake for many years. Family was of the upmost importance to Grant, and he instilled those values in his sons and grandchildren. He is survived by his loving partner Evelyn Smith; two sons: Kerry Macdonald and his partner Margaret Hnidy of Regina, and Todd Macdonald and his wife Leslie of Prince George; grandchildren: Sasha Macdonald and her partner Greg Finch, and Ryan Macdonald and his partner Ruta Braziuaite; Garnet’s widow, Glenys and their sons Bruce, Brian, and their families; as well as numerous other nieces and nephews from the Crook, McGuire, and Smith families. The family would like to thank all the wonderful and caring 3 West staff at Regina Pioneer Village for all their care and dedication. Private family service will be held at a later date.
