Obituary of William Wallace Matlock

WILLIAM WALLACE MATLOCK Bill passed away on Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at the age of 95. He was predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Reg; parents, Henry and Margaret and brothers, Walter and Mike. Bill is survived by his daughters, Shirley (Gary) Stinson, Joan (Dennis) Agopsowicz, Geraldine (Ed) Antonini; son Terry (Cathy); grandchildren, Ryan (Karrie), Rhea (Chris) Mathies, Rhett (Amanda), Darren (Chelsey), Riley (Kristin), Holly (Jamie) Gustafson, Heather, Brett (Laura) and Jesse; and eleven great-grandchildren, Eddie, Mia, Lui, Ellie and Beata, Maddix, Kazden and Atley, Joshua and Matthew, Lydia, Braysen. Also left to mourn are Bills sisters, Anne and Mary and brother John; and by many in-laws, nieces, nephews and dear friends. Bill was born on January 31, 1916. On April 26, 1947 he married Reg and they farmed in the Lumsden District until their retirement. Bill loved his garden and woodworking and was a lifetime member of the Lumsden Lions Club. He was the #1 hockey and baseball fan of his grandsons and you could always find him in the summer parked at his favorite spot at the park watching a ball game or at the rink in the winter in his dedicated chair cheering on his boys. Funeral Mass will be held at the Lumsden Community Hall, Lumsden, SK on Friday, March 4, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Anthony Gonsalves presiding. A private family interment will take place in Lumsden Cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined.
