Obituary of Robert Frank Nelson

ROBERT BOB? FRANK NELSON April 21, 1935 March 5, 2013 Bob, loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend, passed away in the early morning of Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at the Regina General Hospital. He was born and raised in Stalwart, SK to Martha and William. Bob moved to Regina in 1954 to further his education in business, attaining his designation as a Certified Management Accountant in 1971. He was employed by SaskPower and SaskEnergy for 37 years. Following his retirement, he enjoyed working with the Canadian Western Agribition during the winter months. Bob was dedicated to the positions he held and the people he worked with and was well respected for it. Among his passions were curling, the Riders, dancing, the fellowship of Freedom 55, traveling, and spending time with his family. Bob was an enthusiastic photographer and took many pictures of trips, family and Dolores lilies. He married Dolores Anderson in 1958 and they were blessed with a loving family; son Murray (Margie) and their children Mallory, Derek and Adam; daughter Karen (Garth) Lillejord and their children Mark, Stephen and Erik. Bob is also survived by his brother John; sister-in-law Verna Nelson; brothers-in-law Donald (Faye) Anderson and Gerald (Violet) Anderson; several nieces and nephews; and cousin Joyce (Geoffred) Broadley. Bob appreciated all the love and support shown by many family and friends during the past year. He was predeceased by his parents; his brother William Jr.; and sister-in-law Grace Nelson. The family would like to express their gratitude to the Regina General Hospital, particularly Drs Abdulla and Duffy for the respectful care Bob received. Funeral Service will be held at First Presbyterian Church, 2170 Albert Street, Regina, SK on Friday, March 8, 2013 at 12:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations in memoriam may be made to the Lung Association of Saskatchewan, 1231 8th Street East, Saskatoon, SK, S7H 0S5.
