Obituary of Ida 'Marguerite' Peterson

MARGUERITE PETERSON 1914 - 2011 Marguerite passed away in the Pasqua Hospital on Wednesday, March 30 after a brief illness. She was born Ida Marguerite Spence in Saskatoon on April 30, 1914 and was raised in Saskatoon. She married Ben Peterson in 1936, and with him lived successively in Detroit, Michigan, Winnipeg, and Wawanesa, Manitoba, moving to Regina in 1955. Marguerite was an avid curler, gardener, and bridge player, and had many friends all over the province. Ben predeceased her in 1978. In recent years Marguerite was a resident of Wintergreene Estates in Regina. Marguerite will be dearly missed by her children, Gary (Kathy) of Calgary, Gail (Dick) of Bethany, Ontario, John(Olza) of White Rock, BC and Kathy (Peterborough, Ontario); her six grandchildren; her seven great-grandchildren and her many friends, including her dear friend, travelling companion and bridge partner Eileen Nurse of Regina. The family would like to thank the staff of Ward 3B in the Pasqua Hospital for the wonderful care they gave Marguerite in her final two weeks. At Marguerites request there will be no funeral service. A celebration of Marguerites life will be held Saturday, April 16, 2011 at the Speers Family Centre, 2333 Cornwall Street in Regina at 3:30 p.m. A further notice of the celebration will be published a few days prior to the event.
